[citizen] is an audio-visual artwork created in collaboration with Japanese composer Teruyoshi Kamiya. The work reflects upon the city in the age of globalisation through visual montages and audio loops. As the user interacts with these elements, different texts and ideas are revealed, creating a city that is constructed from collages of both real and imagined fragments.
The project uses interactivity to explore connections between words and sound, where the user's decisions can shape different poetic and audio compositions.
Like the other works, [citizen] incorporates chance as a structural device to create multiple perspectives on the theme under exploration.
The project received a Creative Scholarship from the Phonos Foundation in Barcelona.
